Organic Greenery Installation at Flanagan Farm
For Meg and Will’s summer wedding, the design really highlighted the lush, green Maine landscape and Flanagan Farm. At Griffin & Griffin, we specialize in greenery installation services that transform a structural space into an immersive environment.
Working alongside the talented team at A Family Affair, we helped achieve a reception aesthetic that leaned heavily into organic textures and towering scale.
The Whimsy of Live Trees on Tent Poles
One of the most striking elements of the reception at Flanagan Farm was the use of live trees in the reception tent. By lashing full, leafy trees to the wooden tent poles, we were able to:
- Break the Sightline: Soften the structural height of the tent with natural, organic forms.
- Create a Garden Atmosphere: Give guests the feeling of dining in a forest sanctuary, despite being under a protective canopy.
- Scale the Decor: Utilize the vertical space of the tent to make the massive interior feel intimate and grounded.
Modern Lighting Meets Natural Textures
To contrast the wild, organic feel of the greenery installation, sleek, blue drum shade light fixtures were incorporated. These fixtures provided a soft, sophisticated glow that illuminated the leaves from beneath, creating a “dappled sunlight” effect as evening fell. This blend of modern lighting and live tree installations is a hallmark of the custom design work we love to provide for couples and event designers.
A Seamless Collaboration
A design this cohesive requires a powerhouse vendor team. The sprawling reception tent served as the perfect canvas for our collaboration with Of the Field, whose floral arrangements complemented the larger-scale trees with delicate, colorful pops of summer. Every detail was curated to celebrate the natural beauty of Maine.
