Coastal Magic: Tented Wedding Lighting & Design at Newagen Seaside Inn

There is nothing quite like the Maine coast in late summer. Ali and Davi’s celebration at the Newagen Seaside Inn in Southport captured that seasonal magic perfectly. For this stunning sailcloth tented reception, we collaborated with the talented team at The Fig Club to ensure the design didn’t just look beautiful in the daylight; it transformed into a glowing sanctuary as the sun dipped below the Atlantic horizon.

Bringing the Outdoors In: Organic Tent Decor

Our lighting approach leaned heavily into the organic, earthy tones of the Midcoast landscape. To blur the lines between the elegant tent structure and the surrounding greenery, our team installed:

  • Greenery-Wrapped Lanterns: Large black lanterns served as rustic focal points, which were wrapped in lush, climbing vines to create a “living” light fixture.
  • Vine-Covered Chandeliers: These added a whimsical, garden-like feel to the high peaks of the sailcloth tent.
  • Perimeter Draping: Delicate, flowing fabric was added along the tent’s edge to catch the coastal breeze and reflect the warm, internal glow of our string lights.

The Logistics of a Remote Seaside Celebration

Beyond the aesthetics, executing a high-end wedding at a remote seaside venue requires meticulous power distribution and production planning.

To maintain the “magic” without technical interruptions, our team managed the complex power needs of a tented event on the coast. By balancing these functional requirements with atmospheric details, we helped create a “beacon” on the shore, a warm, inviting space that allowed guests to celebrate long after the golden hour faded.
