Located at the Portland Ocean Gateway, a wall of windows overlooking the Portland Harbor provided the backdrop for Angela and Josh’s classic black and white wedding with a modern fringe twist. Planned by Purple Orchid Events and designed by Pinch Me Planning, our lovely couple wanted chic and timeless and saved some of their boldest design choices for overhead.
Our custom black drum shades illuminated the reception space from above and added a pop of color and visual intrigue throughout the reception. Sparkling table settings by One Stop Event Rentals and Peak Event Services sat atop crisp linens that provided a stark and refreshing contrast of white before tying the lighting back in with the all-black seating. Here, the couple welcomed their guests with a delicious and unforgettable meal from Stone Cove Catering.
Centerpieces of white roses, greenery, and baby’s breath by Mimi and Mum were understated, but not unnoticed. Wisps of greenery lend themselves to the same gorgeous texture of our bespoke fringe installation that came to life after dark. Airy, wispy, and white, the incredible texture of these hanging fixtures brought a truly electric feel to the dancefloor, and with the help of Maine Mixologist, had guests partying into the night. Angela even changed into a second bridal look for the dancing portion of the evening which was a shorter white fringe gown that matched the fringe installation above the dancefloor.
Our client’s wildest dreams are our favorite to create, and the unique lighting at Angela and Josh’s classic black and white wedding day was the perfect reminder of that fact.
