Northern Lights Celebration at LL Bean Freeport ME

The Northern Lights Celebration at L.L.Bean has become one of Maine’s most beloved holiday traditions — and this year was no exception. Each December, Freeport transforms into a sparkling winter wonderland filled with twinkling lights, festive displays, and plenty of family-friendly cheer.

For our team, it’s always a highlight of the season. From climbing into cranes to hang the very last strand of lights to watching visitors’ faces light up as they walk through the glowing displays, we love every second of bringing this event to life.

Designing a Holiday Experience from the Ground Up

Creating the Northern Lights Celebration is no small feat. Every detail is planned months in advance, from the towering illuminated trees to the cozy corners perfect for sipping cocoa and snapping holiday photos.

This year, we worked closely with our sister company, The Christmas Light Pros of Maine, to design and install hundreds of custom light features across the L.L.Bean campus. The result? A breathtaking immersive experience that truly captures the magic of the season.

Highlights included:

  • Sparkling Light Displays: Thousands of LED lights draped across buildings, trees, and walkways created a glowing backdrop for the entire event.
  • Interactive Winter Installations: Families strolled through illuminated trails, posed for photos under twinkling arches, and explored festive setups that felt straight out of a storybook.
  • Seasonal Performances & Experiences: From live music and local food vendors to visits with reindeer and holiday characters, the celebration offered something for everyone.

Collaboration Makes the Magic Happen

We are beyond excited to have our sister business The Christmas Light Pros Of Maine be part of the celebration this year and a huge thank you to Erin Little Photography for the wonderful images!

Maine Event Lighting for Bloom at Thompson’s Point

Maine Event Lighting for Bloom at Thompson’s Point

We had the opportunity to light up Thompson’s Point for a very special fundraiser called Bloom. A night dedicated to the Kids First Center, “The Kids First Center’s mission is to minimize the emotional and sometimes physical trauma children experience during the separation and divorce of their parents.” There is nothing better than giving back and coming together with some amazing vendors to make a night like this one happen. It was a wonderful evening and we can’t wait till Bloom 2018.
